Mesobis Guide to Finding Your THC Edible Dosage

Embarking on your THC journey with us isn’t just about finding your favorite flavor of gomitas (but seriously, what is it? Tag us on Instagram!). It’s about mastering the art of THC edible dosage to ensure each experience is enjoyable, enlightening, and never overwhelming. Truth be told, mastering the dose takes a little bit of practice, but this guide will set you up to cut the learning curve and find your perfect buzz.

Understanding THC and Edibles

THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the cannabinoid responsible for the intoxicating effects of cannabis. It’s what delivers that sweet buzz, the potent relief, the great vibes that keep the good times going. Edibles, like gummies, mints, brownies, tinctures, and drinks, offer a discreet and long-lasting way to enjoy these effects. But they can be a bit tricky to navigate if you’re not careful. It seems like everyone has the one story where they accidentally overdid it, and being too high is not a good time, so knowing your dose is key to finding your sweet spot.

When it comes to THC, less is often more, especially for beginners looking to find their THC edible dosage. A good starting point is a microdose of 2.5 mg THC. Everyone’s endocannabinoid system, body weight, metabolism, and even emotional state can influence how you react to THC. So, starting low and going slow is the golden rule.

Factors Affecting THC Experience

Cannabis affects everyone differently. Even if you and your friend take the same dose, you may have a very different experience. Be mindful of your body, mindset, and personal tolerance.

  • Tolerance: If you’re new or coming back from a break, your tolerance will be low.
  • Body Weight: Generally, those with higher body weight might need a bit more THC.
  • Metabolism: A faster metabolism can process THC quicker.
  • Emotional State: Your current mood can amplify or alter your experience.

Tips for First-Time Users

If it’s your first time, heed the ancient wisdom: “low and slow.” Start with 2.5mg THC. Most edibles are very easy to dose by cutting in half or portioning as described on the packaging.

  • Start Low: Begin with a small dose and wait at least an hour.
  • Go Slow: If after an hour you feel fine and want more, take another 2.5 mg.
  • Be Patient: Edibles take time. Avoid the common mistake of over-consuming because you think nothing’s happening.

THC Edible Dosage: Effects by Milligrams

THC edible dosage is measured in milligrams, and different doses produce different effects. Here’s a breakdown of what you might expect and how this relates to Mesobis gomitas. Yet again—before diving in, remember that this is a general guideline. Your experience is unique to you. Start small!

1-2.5 mg THC: Microdose

  • Effects: Mild relief from pain, stress, and anxiety. Increased focus and creativity. Minimal intoxication.
  • Who it’s for: First-timers and those looking to microdose. A 2.5mg dose is equivalent to one-quarter of a gomita. Simply cut into fourths and start with one piece.

3-5 mg THC: Low Dose

  • Effects: Stronger relief, euphoria, potential mild intoxication. For many people, this would produce a very light buzz.
  • Who it’s for: Standard recreational use or those wanting a more noticeable effect. Half of a gomita equals 5mg THC.

10-15 mg THC: Moderate Dose

  • Effects: Effective for pain, nausea, and anxiety. Noticeable feelings of being ‘high’.
  • Who it’s for: Experienced users and medical patients. Many people with THC experience enjoy a 10mg dose—equal to one whole gomita. If it’s your first time with edibles, take it back a notch and wait until you have a bit more experience before eating a whole one.

20-30 mg THC: High Dose

  • Effects: Strong euphoria and a significant high.
  • Who it’s for: High-tolerance users or those looking for deep sedation. Two to three gomitas is a hefty load for many folks, but more power to you if this is your sweet spot!

50-100 mg THC: Very High Dose

  • Effects: Serious impairment, risk of adverse effects like nausea and anxiety.
  • Who it’s for: Very experienced users and medical patients who benefit from cannabis. This THC edibles dosage is not for the average consumer.

THC and Other Cannabinoids

It’s not uncommon to find THC alongside other cannabinoids, but their presence shouldn’t affect how you approach THC edible dosage. For example, we add CBD to our Balanced gomitas, for equally balanced doses of THC and CBD. Although CBD is not psychoactive, the THC edible dosage remains the same. Likewise, we add CBN to our Dream gomitas for the incredible sleep-inducing properties, but they still contain 10mg THC per gomita. And, our Joyful Mango gomitas contain 5mg of non-psychoactive CBG for added joy.

It’s just important to be mindful that the THC is the THC—base your dosage decision on the THC before the other minor cannabinoids.
